You could have either milled the Chains, Fusioned it away to make a Frightfur Sheep (which is reasonable to do on your turn 1 sometimes, especially since you get to search), or you simply had the Chain in hand and special summon it as a meat shield

However, this "faded" quality is not due to sun damage, but rather because the magenta pigment was thin or missing during the manufacturing process, so there is a difference between "sun damage" and "faded." I will explain that difference in the next section
