I maneuvered the weight around the mouthpiece for some reason, horses understand it better. I've designed this shank to hang straight like a solid bit with the forgiveness of a loose shank. We suggest it for a broke horse. My favorite mouthpiece for a wide variety of horses. The softest port in my opinion because it features a 1 2" bar
