Victorian Sidesaddle Whip with Amethyst - w1784 box-spurs Weight 404g ( 14¼oz)This very fine whip is in very good condition for its age. It has a gold coloured cap and collar with foliate and floral decoration. There is a purple cut amethyst set into the top of the cap. The cap also has a ring which would hold a wrist cord or chain. Between the cap and collar, the grip is covered in braided black baleen or whalebone. The long slim shaft is covered in brown braided threadThe whip has the remains of its original lash at its end.
