Dahlias are frost tender so are best not planted to early - mid to late October is a good time unless you live somewhere that is reliably frost free earlier than this or you can offer them protection

To mitigate any risk of Crown gall we recommend planting your tuber in a pot for at least one growing season away from any already established dahlia stock
