GERMAN BAVARIAN POLICE SWORD CA.1895-1910 Badges and InsigniaAn infrequently seen sword, this Bayerische Staatliche Polizei schwert, dates to the late 19th early 20th c., and was a product of the famed Alex Coppel manufacture in Solingen. It's 67 cm overall, with 54 cm long double edged blade, which shows evidence of period sharpening. I strongly suspect this sword was a WWII GI bring back. The scabbard leather is scratch engraved Russell Hardin August 14,1945, the locket says N. R. HARDIN GOLDENDALE
