NW Persian Meshkin Runner Rug | 4' 1" x 11' 9" 2 x 3 Size: 7' 5" x 10'Meshkin is one of Irans village rug weaving regions. Because of its proximity to the Caucasus, the patterns and motifs of its rugs are generally rooted in Caucasian designs. This Meshkin runner, however, may be considered a rare example woven with Turkmen motifs. Locally, this type of rug is sometimes called tarh e ghalat, meaning an unconventional design or a design that goes against the usual local tradition. In this case, that unusual choice adds
