Oil painting by Rasmus Karlin - 1950s Chest of drawers its original rush seat andRasmus Karlin (1911 1991) produced a significant number of paintings throughout his life. Active from the 1940s, he took inspiration from the Danish island of Aero and often represented its landscapes, coastal scenes and buildings. A striking characteristic of Karlins approach to painting is his ability to create beautifully lit scenes. The artist had a natural understanding of the relationship between light and form and was able to produce paintings
