Fun fact: pink and turquoise was my absolute favourite colour combination during primary school

I Am and secondly they thrive andI Am is the eight painting in my Rise Collection. I painted it after reading Delia Owen's book Where the Crawdads Sing and I arranged pages from her novel in a quartered composition on my painting panel. When reading the novel a lot of similarities between Owen's themes and subject matter, and those I had already been exploring in my paintings became obvious; feathers of course, but also woman, shells, resilience, creativity, beauty and truth.
