In good condition overall - there is an old darn to the back to the left sleeve at the the elbow & another to the skirt front just below the waist seam - wear and some repairs to the button holes - loss of the black paint on the buttons & a small chip to one - some edge repairs to the cuff linings - a few snags to the embroidery & subtle dark discolouration to the armpits

Made from a single piece of black felt with squiggly gold soutache decoration overall, cleverly shaped into a sort of collapsed shako & trimmed with a plain black felt 'feather' on the side; it has a petersham sweatband & elastic cord strap to allow perching on the head.
