Embroidery Sampler in Blue and Pink christmas embroidery 75" - cut fabric 14This sampler is quite unusual as it uses only embroidery stitches. No alphabets or motifs. it is the only like it I have ever come across. it dates late 1800s early 1900s. It is such a happy sampler. It is in great condition, most likely a schoolgirl exercise in various embroidery stitches. The sampler came from England. There are no makers marks. Stitched with cotton on a fine linen base and hemmed on all sides. it is quite small and measures only 8.
